Investigation of nuclei of active galaxies as well as sources in the Large Magellanic Cloud using the X-ray astronomy satellite EXOSAT
Abstract
Data from galactic nuclei and Magellanic clouds, observed by the EXOSAT satellite, were analyzed. The BL Lac sources 3C 371, MCN 501 and LMC are described. Statistical investigation of the 3C 371 X-ray spectrum show a sharp low energy spectral component; the spectrum above 1keV can be described by an exponential law; a flux variability is found. The MKM 501 source shows a uniform exponential spectrum and a significant variability. The energy spectrum of the X-ray pulsar LMC X-Y was determined.
